Angelica Hale fell ill at age 4 with Strep and pneumonia as a result of an infection brought on by bacteria. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston placed her on ECMO which is a lifesaving treatment. It was not until her kidneys recovered that she could be saved when she contracted a septic infection and suffered numerous organ malfunctions. It was her new normal to have hemodialyses as well as peritoneal dialysis. After spending 80 consecutive days in the hospital from the point of death to a long journey to recovery she finally made it home but her life forever changed. After one year and a half of dialysis, Angelica was able to undergo the largest surgery of her life-her kidney transplant. The kidney that would be donated to her came from only her mom. Angelica as well as her mom underwent the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on the 13th of September, 2013 at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to each other. Angelica Hale's ambition to be an international star has not waned.
